The KulturBrauerei is a former landmark of industrialization with a distinctive architecture from the end of the 19th century – located in the heart of Berlin. The site which is under national trust protection contains six linked courtyards and over 20 buildings used by creative artists for a wide range of events including cultural happenings like parties, theatrical performances or cinematic and gastronomic events.
The KulturBrauerei is located in the “Kiez” of Prenzlauer Berg. Such as the KulturBrauerei, the district Prenzlauer Berg is a centre of cultural life. Even in the former GDR era, students, artists and creative folks massively influenced the image of the lively and rural neighbourhood. In present times, it is well known for its large amount of bars, cafés and restaurants as well as the popular flea markets around Mauerpark and Arkonaplatz. Luckily both flea markets take place on Sundays so that you can root around for unique and rare pieces before the Berlin Buzzwords Barcamp opens its doors.
