Take part in the Call for Submissions for #bbuzz

For the seventh year in a row Berlin Buzzwords provides a platform for Apache and also further Big Data Open Source committers, projects and technologies. Since we believe in collaboration, participation and exchange of ideas, we want to encourage all Big Data Open Source enthusiasts to submit a session on Large Data Processing, NoSQL, IR/Search or related topics. Share your knowledge, applications, use cases and best practices with the community and shape the program of Berlin Buzzwords 2016!

What topics are we looking for?
Berlin Buzzwords is looking for talks on:

  • Search / IR systems – Lucene, Solr, Elasticsearch or comparable solutions
  • NoSQL – like Apache Cassandra, Flink, MongoDB, Hbase, CouchDB and others
  • Large Data Processing – Hadoop itself, MapReduce, Cascading etc.

Related topics not explicity listed above are welcome as well.

What do you get?
It's a geek to geek conference, but if we choose your session, you get to be the expert and answer questions from the audience. Besides entering the stage at #bbuzz, you get a free ticket for the conference, barcamp and satellite events taking place all over Berlin. As a speaker you will also get free accomodation during the conference for two nights (June 05-07) at RAMADA Hotel Berlin-Alexanderplatz.

When does the Call for Submissions end?
The Call for Submissions ends on February 7, 2016. Proposals submitted after this date or which reach us through other channels cannot be accepted.

How long are Berlin Buzzwords sessions?
We have 20 and 40 minute slots. You can let us know your preference in your proposal.

You have already registered for a previous #bbuzz?
Great! You just need to update your account. Log in here! Log in with your username and password. Please note, if you've forgotten your username or password, you can reset it. On the main page you see  the note “Berlin Buzzwords 2016: subscribe to event”, click on it and  you will be asked "Are you sure you want to join the group Berlin  Buzzwords 2016?". Click “Join”. You will return to the main page, click  now on "Dashboard" and go to "Add Session" in order to submit your new abstract.

How do we review the submissions?
There will be an anonymized review of all submissions. Members of the program committee will not see the name, photo, short bio and gender of the proposer to reduce unconscious bias.
